Module 1 - (40 seats only)
Dissection of Anatomic Specimens/Models
Limited attendance sessions - 2 candidates per orbit ( each side) to help each other explore the specimen.
The aim of this skill station is to get the participants to be familiar with the anatomy of the periorbital and orbital region. The candidates will be guided by experienced faculty to get an understanding and exposure to the following -
- Approaches to orbit
- Floor dissection
- Medial wall dissection
- Lateral wall dissection
- Placement of an implant
- DCR
- Medial Canthal tendon manipulation
- Orientation to VSP (after the dissection session).
The specimens are preserved ones and will be a bit tough to dissect. The faculty will help the candidates during the session.
On completion of the exercise on the models / specimens, the candidates will have a session on VSP and PSI design of the orbit
